We Gatherin’ brought the parish of St. Peter to life in February, with a vibrant lineup of events celebrating the community’s culture and creativity.
One of the standout moments was the St. Peter Poetry and Open Mic Nite, which captivated attendees at Happyness Bar in Orange Street, Speightstown. The night was filled with powerful performances as local artistes took the stage, sharing their words and talents to the delight of an engaged audience.
Adding to the evening’s significance, the St. Peter Parish Independence Committee took time to honor some of the parish’s most notable literary and poetry contributors. Vernon Worrell, Maverene Benn, Carol Antara Gilkes, and Frank Gilkes were recognized for their contributions to the literary arts, solidifying their place in the cultural fabric of St. Peter.
With its mix of talent, appreciation, and community spirit, St. Peter Poetry and Open Mic Nite was truly a highlight of We Gatherin’, leaving attendees inspired and eager for more.
