Washington, D.C was buzzing with the vibrant spirit of Barbados this month as over 3,000 guests poured into the Embassy of Barbados for a day filled with culture, flavour and rhythm. From the moment guests stepped through the doors, they were transported to the island, greeted by the sounds, sights and tastes that define Barbados’ cultural tapestry.

The highlight of the day? A live cooking demonstration by acclaimed Barbadian Chef Creig, who served up mouthwatering dishes that showcased the island’s heritage. Guests also sipped and savoured the handcrafted cocktails by mixologist Dameain Williams featuring the bold, tropical flavours of Planteray Rum, bringing a true taste of Barbados to D.C. The energy of Crop Over filled the room as elaborate, feathered costumes from Grand Kadooment band, Vida by Esquire, brought the day to life.

In addition to promoting Crop Over and the year-long We Gatherin’ initiative, the event also teased what’s to come later this year with Barbados Food and Rum Festival and the Run Barbados Marathon weekend.

Ready to experience the magic of Barbados for yourself? Book your trip today and join us in Barbados where the only thing warmer than the weather is the welcome.
