Barbados is calling its people home—and inviting the world to experience its vibrant culture firsthand.

In 2025, the island is hosting a year-long celebration called “We Gatherin’,” a cultural initiative designed to spotlight the rich heritage, history, and creativity of Barbados. Each month, a different parish takes center stage, offering locals and visitors alike an immersive dive into the unique stories, flavors, and rhythms that make Barbados so unforgettable.

Here’s a taste of what to expect each month:

  • May (St. John): Come for the warm community vibes, stay for the pudding and souse. Expect lively gatherings, local festivals, and friendly cricket matches.

  • June (St. George): Embrace the island’s agricultural roots with farm tours and market strolls that highlight fresh, local flavors.

  • July (St. Philip): Step into the sweet legacy of sugar with museum tours and rum tastings that connect you to the island’s colonial past.

  • August (St. Andrew): Celebrate the arts with vibrant exhibitions and live performances, culminating in the Barbados Music Festival.

  • September (St. James): Cricket takes the spotlight with festivities at the iconic Kensington Oval.

  • October (Christ Church): Enjoy sun, sand, and seafood at the famous Oistins Fish Fry.

  • November (St. Michael): Savor the island’s culinary excellence during the Barbados Food and Rum Festival, paired with spirited Independence Day celebrations.

  • December: Wrap up the year with island-wide reunions, holiday festivities, and a festive Bridgetown Christmas Parade.

The “We Gatherin’” movement is more than just a tourism event—it’s a homecoming, a celebration of identity, and an invitation to connect with the heart and soul of Barbados.
